ISLAMABAD The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) and the Capital Police are all set to implement security plan devised for the month of Muharram and the officials have started visiting the sensitive areas as a pre-emptive measure. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed conducted visit of Imambargahs located in the vicinity of capital including Imambargah of G-6/2 and reviewed security arrangements made for the protection of worship places during the month of Muharram. ICT Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and SHOs have also started conducting extensive patrolling in their respective areas. According to a press release issued by ICTA here on Monday, Mosque Peace committees have also been activated to remain vigilant and check the internal security through volunteers using metal detectors. Walk through gates and CCTV cameras are also in place at the sensitive places. During Muharram, route of processions would be cordoned off as well as combing and scanning of routes will also be underway during precessions. Scanners for checking of vehicles have also been placed at the sensitive places along with deployment of police. Police has intensified search operation and security at entry and exit points of the city along with checking of guesthouses and hotels for security purpose. City hospitals have also been put on high alert. APP adds: Meanwhile, the search teams of Islamabad Police have conducted a thorough search of sectors F-7 and F-8 where the presence of a suspected terrorist was reported on Thursday night. According to the police spokesman, a cab driver had given a tip-off to the law enforces regarding the presence of a suspected person in the said area near Faisal Chowk. Following the information, the police cordoned off the area and continued search, the police spokesman said. He said that police remained searching the suspected person till Friday but could not trace him. About the authenticity of this information, he said it is our duty to satisfy the complainant after his concern on any matter.
