ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has suspended Secretary Interior Ch Qamar Zaman, Additional Director FIA and two inspectors deputed, for stopping Defence Minister Ch Ahmad Mukhtar at the Islamabad airport from boarding a plane for China. The Prime Minister while talking to media Friday night also ordered a formal inquiry into the matter on the complaint of the minister. Ahmad Mukhtar was stopped at the airport on Thursday night, as according to FIA authorities, his name was placed on the ECL after the court decision on NRO. The sources in NAB informed that Chairman NAB Naveed Ahsan has apologised to Mukhtar for wrongly placing his name on ECL and assured that he would inquire into the matter. Later, talking to media persons, Defence Minister confirmed that Chairman NAB had telephoned him and added that he had decided not to go to any foreign state until the completion of inquiry pending against him with NAB. He further said that he had brought the matter to the notice of President Zardari and PM Gilani. Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar was barred from boarding a China-bound flight at Benazir International Airport Thursday evening and he was told by the FIA officials that his name was put on the ECL. He was leaving for Beijing, by PK-852 on an official tour.
