LAHORE – Punjab Bar Council cancelled licences of 37 lawyers over the allegations of fake degrees and misconduct.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the licenses had been cancelled in 2012 by the disciplinary committee of the council.
During the year, the committee conducted proceedings on dozens of applications moved against lawyers who belonged from around Punjab.
The committee held hearings on the applications and cancelled the licenses of 37 lawyers and suspended the same of three another. “Many applications are still pending before the disciplinary committee which would be decided in the future,” the statement said.
All bar associations of the country have been informed through circulars about the names of the aforesaid unruly lawyers.
