Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Balcoh on Tuesday said that JI after coming into power will stabilise the country’s economy on priority basis and give relief to the masses by abolishing taxes on daily commodities. Baloch said that JI would abolish poverty and bring prosperity to the middle and lower middle class through appropriate measures.

Baloch said that JI would abolish GST and lessen indirect taxes and reduce gas and electricity tariff by 20 to 30 per cent. He said a commission would be set up to determine the petroleum price and all the unnecessary tax would be removed. “The commission will be comprised of parliament members, stake holders and the representatives of the consumers,” he added. He said that JI would enact laws with regard to increase in salary of the workers in accordance with the inflation rate in the country.
