LAHORE – The Punjab government has put district administration and police on high alert after firing incidents on the teams administering polio drops in Karachi and Peshawar.

Punjab Health Secretary Arif Nadeem asked the DCOs of those districts where polio vaccination was being administered to ensure the safety of the officials of polio campaign. He asked the commissioners and DCOs to depute armed police officials with vaccination teams in sensitive areas of Rawalpindi, DG Khan, Attock, Mianwali and Rajanpur districts so that they could perform their duties peacefully.
