LAKKI MARWAT - Frontier region Lakki, Political Agent Nisar Ahmad has called upon the tribal youths to come forward and play their role to put the tribal region on the path of progress and to ensure lasting peace.

This he said while speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of Second Khushal Cricket Tournament at district sports complex Tajazai on Tuesday.

Fata Secretariat Program (FSP) had arranged the tournament wherein cricket clubs of Betanni tribe from FR Lakki participated. In the final match Gorilla club chose to bat first and made 87 runs by seven wickets in ten overs. It beat Afghan club, which scored 70 runs at the loss of eight wickets. 

Gorilla club’s captain Muhammad Ali was declared man of the match while Saddam of Afghan club and Rafiullah of Gorilla club won the titles of best bowler and batsman of the tournament respectively.

Assistant Political Agent Fayyaz Khan Sherpao, ACO Liaqat Ali Bhatti, FSP officials including Irfan and Riaz, District Sports Officer Shafqatullah and Agency Sports Officer Noorullah were also in the attendance.

PA Mr Nisar distributed trophies, shields and cash prizes among the players of winning and runner up teams and said that the political administration with the support of FSP would continue holding sports gals for tribal youths in future.

“The players should show the same spirit they exhibited in playfield in real life with the aim to promote peace, harmony, brotherhood and prosperity”, he maintained. The political agent said that such sports events would provide youths with opportunities of taking part in national level game competitions and earn a good name for their tribal region.
