ISLAMABAD - The combined investigation team (CIT) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), formed to interrogate its own Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhary, would submit its interrogation report to the prosecution wing this week, well placed sources told The Nation on Wednesday.
According to details, the Supreme Court had directed the NAB to interrogate and investigate the NICL case and in accordance with the SC directives the NAB team started probe into case, the sources added.
About 22 individuals have been interrogated in this case and the bureau would finalize its interrogation report this week and then this report would be submitted to the prosecution wing for finalizing the charges against the accused, it is learnt.
During the interrogation of former interior secretary Qamar Zaman (incumbent chairman NAB), two times appeared before the team and denied all charges leveled against him, the sources said. It was the first time that a NAB chairman appeared before his subordinates.
The combined investigations team comprises NAB investigators, representatives of the police and SECP. It investigated the accused for more than two hours each and also sought written reply to the allegations leveled against them the sources said.
