PSDE moot on energy starts today

ISLAMABAD - The 29th annual general meeting and the conference of the Pakistan Society for Development Economist would start from Thursday (today).
Pakistan Institute of Development Economics would host the conference, which would continue for next three days (December 19 to December 21). The theme of the conference is “Energy Security and Economic Sustainability: The Way Forward”. During the three days, several authors from various parts of the world would present their research papers on energy.
Members of several civil societies, government offices and international non-government organisations are taking part in discussions on energy issues.
Major titles of the first days of the conference are energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, sustainable energy development, energy and household economic vulnerability, energy security and environment and pricing of energy. The main speakers of the conference are Ilhan Ozturk, Associate Professor of Economics, Cag University, Yenice Turkey. Mohan Munasinghe, Chairperson Munasinghe institute of Development Colombo Sri Lanka.  Zhaoguang Hu, Vice president and chief energy specialist, State Grid Energy Research Institute, Beijing, People’s Republic of China and Rajendra K. Pachauri, Chief Executive, The Energy and Resources Institute New Delhi India.
