Entire Sialkot remained blanketed with dense fog due to which all the roads, rail and air traffic remained badly halted on Wednesday.
All the trade, business, civic and social activities also remained paralysed. The thick fog kept the entire Sialkot region blanketed due to which all the air, road and railway traffic remained suspended, while the attendance in the government and private offices and educational institutions remained very thin. People preferably stayed in-door and enjoyed the foggy and cold weather without having electricity and gas as well. Cold winds (coming from the icy Alps of neighbouring Occupied Jammu & Kashmir) made the weather much cold. Several cattle and birds reportedly died due to severe cold in Sialkot district’s far-of bordering villages along the Sialkot Working Boundary.
The mercury dropped to 11 Celsius in Sialkot region. According to the Met officials, the foggy and misty weather will persist for next couple of days.
FIVE INJURED: Thick fog paralysed life across the district. At least five passengers were injured in an unfortunate collision of a coaster and a truck on Gojra Road due to heavy fog here the other night.
According to Gojra Saddr Police, the coaster was on way to Faisalabad from Toba while truck was coming from opposite side when reached near Chaudry Sugar Mills drivers failed to see each other’s vehicle due to low visibility and collided. As a result, Salim, Munir Sharifan and Hajira and Sadiq received injuries.
They were admitted in Gojra THQ Hospital from where one of them Sadiq was referred to Faisalabad Allied hospital in critical condition.
