Schools asked to step up security

LAHORE - Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains has said that educational institutions, for security purposes, are divided into four categories which include A+, A, B, and C.
He further said that the administration of all the schools is directed to implement proper security measures within two weeks. The management of all the private and public schools located in Lahore is also asked to set up security points, install CCTV cameras, and repair the boundary walls.
The Lahore police chief issued these directions while presiding over a meeting at his office on Thursday. DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf and all the divisional police officers were also present on this occasion.
According to a police spokesperson, the Lahore police are taking unprecedented steps to ensure proper security around educational institutions by utilising Elite Police Force, Quick Response Force, and patrolling police.
The CCPO directed the filed officers to remain in constant contact with the administration of private and public schools in their respective areas to ensure proper security measures including the deployment of private security guards.
According to the police, the schools of A+ and A category would not be allowed to reopen after two weeks if they failed to adopt security measures.
