Chaudhry Nisar suspends SHO Abpara for maltreating civil society representatives

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has suspended SHO Abpara Police Station Chaudhry Majeed for manhandling civil society representatives, during a protest outside Lal Masjid in connection with Peshawar army pubic school tragedy.
Show cause notices have also been served on SSP Operation Sajid Kayani, Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad and SP city Ahmad Iqbal. They have been asked to explain, as to why the civil society representatives, who held peaceful demonstration, were subjected to maltreatment.
The representatives of civil society had staged peaceful demonstration outside Lal Masjid on December 16 for not condemning Army Public School tragedy. The police allegedly maltreated the protesting civil society representatives and arrested them. Later they were released.
