KARACHI -  PPPP President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at the CM House on Monday and discussed with him development schemes underway all over the province.

Zardari urged him to not only complete the schemes in time, but also ensure their quality. “Timely completion gives more benefit to people of the area,” he said.

They also discussed the arrangements made in connection with the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto and the party’s public meetings to be held all over Sindh and in the other provinces.

The chief minister briefed the PPPP president about the development portfolio, foreign funded development programmes and status of the Thar coal mining and power plant project.

Zardari said that the generation of coal-fired power was the dream of Benazir Bhutto and some progress was made when the PPP government was in power at the Centre, but the provincial government of Sindh had done a wonderful job.

The chief minister thanked the party chief for visiting the CM House.

for BB’s death anniversary

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that millions of people and diehard workers of the party from all over Pakistan will attend the 10th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto (BB) at Garhi Khuda Bux, Larkana on December 27.

At a meeting held here at Bilawal House on Monday, the PPP leaders briefed the chairman about the arrangements being made for observing the 10th death anniversary of BB at her mausoleum.

Those who attended the meeting included Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, Faryal Talpur, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Murad Ali Shah, Maula Bux Chandio, Waqar Mehdi and Saeed Ghani.

Bilawal underscored the need for making additional arrangements on the occasion so that the people coming from every nook and corner of the country do not face any difficulty during their visit to the last resting place of their leader.

The PPP chairman also said that growing popularity of the party and its successful recent public meetings had frustrated the opponents.

He further said that PPP was the only mainstream party, which had roots across the country while the rest were either regional or bubble parties.
