FAISALABAD - Over 5.1 million people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the district.
District Health Officer Dr Ataul Mun’im said on Saturday 3,239,842 people were injected first dose while 1,800,622 administered the second dose of vaccine. He further said that 38,431 health workers were also given first dose while 28,075 received the second dose of vaccine. He said that sufficient stock of coronavirus vaccine was available in the district. As of now 212,707 first doses and 141,804 second doses were in the stock in Faisalabad. He said that 37 vaccination centers and 20 mobile vaccination camps were operational in Faisalabad where registered people were being vaccinated.
In order to facilitate the people, these centers had been established in various areas of the city including Allied Hospital, District Head Quarters Hospital, Government General Hospital G.M Abad, Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology, Government General Hospital Samanabad, Children Hospital, sports Complex Samanabad, Tehsil Head Quarters Hospital Jaranwala, Samundri, Tandlianwala, Chak Jhumra, Sports Complex Chak Jhumrah, Sports Complex Jaranwala, Government General Hospital Chak 224-RB, New Building RHC Khurrianwala, New Building THQ Sammundri, New Building THQ Tandlianwala, Social Security Hospital Madina Town, Wapda Hospital, Rural Health Centers Mureed Wala, Chak 174-JB, Chak 134-JB, Chak 229-Rb, Chak 65-GB, RHC Lundianwala Jaranwala, RHC Khurrianwala Jaranwala, Pindi Sheikh Musa, Kanjwani, Mamukanjan, RHC Chak 400-GB, RHC Chak 153-RB, RHC Chak 374-GB and Chak 469-GB, he added. He further said that timing of these vaccination centers was 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. except Sports Complex Samanabad center which remains operational round the clock.
23 criminals held,

Police on Saturday arrested 23 criminals and recovered drugs and illegal weapons from their possession in the district during the last 24 hours. According to police, raiding teams nabbed 3 proclaimed offenders (POs) and 8 drug pushers and recovered 0.2 Kg hashish and 149 litres liquor from their possession. The police also held 4 gamblers and recovered Rs. 1,920 from them. In a crackdown against illegal weapons, police arrested 8 persons and recovered 5 pistols, 2 rifles and one kalashnikov from them.
Two more tested COVID-19 positive in Faisalabad
Two people were tested COVID-19 positive in the district during the last 24 hours. According to the Health department spokesperson, 774 coronavirus tests were conducted in public and private sector labs during the same period. He said that total active cases in Faisalabad were 49 while 25,929 patients had so far recovered from the disease. He said that 200 beds were allocated at the Allied Hospital, 52 at the DHQ Hospital and 150 at Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammad Abad for COVID-19 patients. At present, 9 patients were under treatment at the Allied Hospital, 6 at DHQ Hospital and two at General Hospital. He further said that 18 confirmed patients were isolated at their homes in the district.
