ISLAMABAD – Pashtuns are peace-loving people and believe in non-violence, their history is clear of violence and aggression and had only defended their pride, motherland and honour. These were the comments of Minister for Culture and Information Mian Ifthikhar Hussain at a colourful cultural gala arranged by Pakistan National Council of the Arts and Directorate of Culture, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here at PNCA Auditorium. This show is aimed to remind to the world that Pashtuns are art loving people and alive and will never surrender to any kind of aggression from any corner. He thanked PNCA for its generous support. The cultural show started with Nagahara through traditional instruments followed by patriotic song Drund Pashtuns. Bakhtyar Khattah a renowned folk singer performed “Ze Che Pe Main Yam” describing Pashtuns’ history, culture, tradition and life style. Ejaz Sarhadi presented folk tune on Sarenda, the audience were intoxicated with rhythm and were dancing on every tune as per their traditions. Neelo a young singer from Sawat presented a popular song “Kamees Mey Zayar”. Ustad Ahmed Gull received great applause by presenting Tapa and Geet “Rasha Wogora Dilbara”. Mahsood Dance song by Khula and Rubab presentations were very much appreciated. Wakaf Malang Thori and Tambal presentation were part of the show. Most popular singer Nazia Iqbal presented “Ke De Stargy Ne Sabraggi” and “Rok De Swal Leedal Sha” the programme ended with popular dance Attaner.
