PESHAWAR - Government contractors from Bajaur Agency on Monday appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take note of alleged irregularities carried out in various development projects in the agency and order re-tendering these schemes.
Speaking at a new conference here at the Peshawar Press Club on Monday, a contractor Haji Gul Karim Khan alleged that authorities concerned have awarded contracts of various developmental projects of Bajaur Agency to its blue-eyed people, which was an injustice with other contractors.
These tenders, he informed, were of worth of Rs 1192.644 million for more than 15 various schemes of roads infrastructure development, have been awarded to the blue eyed.
He informed that during the current fiscal year, Rs215.689 million were estimated for the Bajuar Agency for various small development schemes under the Annual Development Programme in Fata, for which a tender was notified on January 22, 2013.
He informed that more than 30 contractors had submitted applications by following the procedure on February 06, 2013, but forms were given to only five contractors of their choice without following the procedure.
Flanked by Engr. Shakeerullah, and Haji Warkoti Khan, and others, Khan informed that a major scheme worth of Rs976.975million for construction of 31.85-kilometer road, was included in the other 14 small road infrastructure development schemes, under the FATA Emergency Rural Roads Projects (ERRP). The nomination form was also distributed among blue-eyed people for the project, he added. He appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhamamd Chaudhary and Governor KPK Engineer Shaukatullah to take note of the favouritism and order re-tendering these schemes.
