Police arrested a suspected thief and a watchman red handed and recovered two slaughtered deer while their two accomplices managed to escape.

A few days ago, the deer were stolen from 65RD cage of National Park Laal Sohanra. On the orders of DPO Sohail Habib Tajik, a police part led by Sub Inspector Afzal recovered the slaughtered deer and arrested Muhammad Akhtar and the watchman while Rasheed and Nawaz managed to escape.

Akhtar has confessed that during the month he sold out two deer which he caught while hunting to a resident of Fort Abbas, Maqsood Watoo, for Rs30,000 each. Both the deer were alive when he sold while he sold the slaughtered deer for 15,000 rupees.

He further confessed that he stole the deer with the help of watchman Allah Baksh who allow him to hunt during his duty hours. He added that flamingos were stolen by Irshad Kanani, Shera and Fiaz who sold out a few of them to Danish, a hotel owner and resident of Multan.

He further said that Irshad, Shera and Fiaz had stolen deer several times and all of the birds which were stolen from the park had been stolen with their connivance and that of the Forest Department officials. Police have registered a case against the accused Under Section 17, 18, 21 and 22 of Wildlife Act and 379, 411 of PPC.

ROBBERIES: Police have traced a gang involved in motorcycle lifting with arrest of its one member namely Muhammad Aamir. The gang was involved in stealing motorcycles from different parts of the city.

Police have recovered 11 motorcycles from the accused are searching for other gang members including Abid, Hafiz alias Makha, Allah Baksh and Muhammad Ayub. To control the increasing number of motorcycle snatching and theft incidents in the area of Baghdadul Jadeed police, DPO Sohail Habib Tajik had tasked DSP City Riaz Hussain Bukhari with controlling the crimes. The DSP then constituted a team consisting of SHO Aamir Ghauri, Sub Inspector Lateef Jarhar, ASI Muhammad Asif, Head Constable Sikandar Shahzad and other police officials.
