Operation clean-up in Lahore

LAHORE  - The district administration Tuesday launched crackdown against illegal constructions on state land and other encroachments in Ravi Town, Allama Iqbal Town and Shalimar Town and demolished 146 shops, constructed illegally and retrieved state land, worth millions of rupees, in the first day of operation.
Before launching the crackdown, District Coordination Officer Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi divided nine towns of the city in three Zones, each zone comprising three Towns, so that a successful crackdown could be launched.
On the first day of operation against Anti-encroachment crackdown, Ravi Town, Samanabad Town and Data Gunj Bukhsh Town administrations jointly conducted operation on Shahdara Chowk and removed more than 100 shops, illegally constructed on state land and cleared about1½ KM area from both sides of road starting from Shahdra Chowk to Match Factory.
In second zone, TMA Iqbal Town, Nishter Town and Gulberg Town jointly conducted operation against Anti-encroachment in Raiwind Main Bazaar, Ghoshat Market and demolished 21 shops, constructed illegally on state land.
The third zone, TMA Shalimar Town, TMA Wahga Town and TMA Aziz Bhatti Town conducted operation on Sukh Nehar Road and demolished 25 Shops, retrieving 2 Kanal of state land.
Moreover, the DCO also visited Shahdara, Sukh Nehar Road and Iqbal Town to inspect ongoing operation against encroachments and appreciated TMAs, staff over successful launch of operation.
Moot: President College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) Prof Zafarullah Chaudhry will inaugurate two day Scientific Symposium  organized by Post Graduate Medical Institute at Lahore General Hospital on Wednesday (today). Senior consultants will deliver special lectures while medical experts will read research papers during the symposium. A poster exhibition will also be arranged to sensitize public about various diseases.
