Rawalpindi - An armed clash between two groups that too in presence of police over land ownership of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) well number 3 here at Jatli area left 8 people injured, sources revealed to The Nation on Wednesday.
The injured were referred to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital from Rural Health Centre (RHS) Doltala by doctors keeping in view their critical condition, sources added. Police registered cases against the two clashing groups and started investigation.
The firing incident gripped the locality into fear as locals preferred to stay indoor. SHO PS Jaltli Muhammad Qasim was not available for his comments on the issue.
Meanwhile, a man namely Shohaib Ali was murdered allegedly by his cousin Siddique over land dispute here at Gulraiz area. Police told Shohaib was returning home after dropping his children to school when Siddique intercepted him on road and exchanged harsh words with him. Later, Siddique killed Shohaib by firing bullets with pistol.
In Kallar Syedan’s New Abadi, a 30-year-old man Shabbir Hussain committed self-immolation by sprinkling petrol on him. Police rushed to the scene and took the dead body into custody. The family members told media that Shabbir Hussain was mentally retorted. Police mentioned the incident in daily crime register.
