Strike against terror strikes

LAHORE - Lawyers held partial strike on Wednesday to condemn terrorist’s attack near the main gate of Qila Gujjar Singh’s police line in which five people died and 25 others injured, demanding the government to take more steps to strengthen security.
The lawyers boycotted proceedings in lower courts while the judges also supported the cause by sitting at their retiring rooms instead of sitting in the courtrooms. As a result, thousands of litigants suffered problems due to adjournment of their cases to the next dates. The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) also held general house meeting to condemn the coward incident of killing innocent people near the police line in Qila Gujjar Singh. LHCBA president Shafqat Mahmood Chohan said that the bar always stood against the brutality and would continue condemnation of such heinous incidents. He also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families, saying that the lawyers were standing with them.
Other speakers including Bar’s Secretary Muhammad Ahmad Chachar, Barrister Zafarullah Khan and other senior lawyers also spoke on the occasion. They said that the terrorism would destroy the country if it was not abolished from its roots.
