IHC rejects NAB's plea, maintains bail of Capt (r) Safdar

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) plea against bail of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (r) Safdar.

Two-member bench of the court reserved verdict on December 14, 2017.

NAB had moved the court stating the accountability court does not hold authority to release Capt (r) Safdar on bail and wanted his transfer to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.

Captain (r) Safdar, son-in-law, of PML-N President and ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Along with his wife Maryam Nawaz, Safdar is nominated in Avenfield corruption reference by NAB.
