LAHORE - The Central Election Office of Jama'at-e-Islami on Sunday issued schedule for JI Ameer election. Elections Commission Nazim, Abdul Hafiz Ahmed announcing the schedule of the elections said, Central Election Office will send ballot papers to provincial offices till February 10 from where the same will be sent to district offices till February 20. The district offices will ensure distribution of ballot papers among JI members till March 1. After casting vote, the JI members will return ballot papers to the district offices till March 20. The district offices will submit collected ballot papers to provincial offices till March 25. The provincial offices will return ballot papers to Central Election Office till March 28. A special team comprising senior JI members will count votes of candidates under the supervision of Nazim Elections. The result will be announced at the beginning of April and new Ameer will take oath during the third week of April. Meanwhile, Naib Ameer Jama'at-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch has said that the Muslim Ummah has no alternative except to wage Jehad against Israel. He was addressing a rally organised by JI here at Multan Road on Sunday to protest against Israeli aggression on Gaza and to express solidarity with Palestinians. The participants were carrying placards and banners inscribed with writings against Israel, India and the US. The highly charged participants continuously raised slogans against Israel, India and the US leadership. Liaqat Baloch urged the rulers of Muslim countries to shed fear and take concrete steps to thwart nefarious designs of Israel. He said that the JI would mark February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity and Palestine Solidarity Day to record protest against Indian and Israeli atrocities against innocent Kasmiris and Palestinians. He said that the US and Europe was patronising Israel and wanted Muslim countries to recognise this illicit state. Rally against Israel Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami) on Sunday organised a rally from Sheranwala Gate to Masjid-e-Shuhada to protest against Israeli aggression on Gaza and to express solidarity with Palestinians. Addressing the participants of rally at Masjid-e-Shuhada, Maulana Ajmal Qadri said that the UN raised hue and cry over Mumbai incident but it was watching silently the killings of innocent Palestinians including women and children. He said that the US was not only interfering on western border but also enhancing difficulties of Pakistan by encouraging India to deploy its troops on eastern borders. Ahmed Ludhyanvi, Maulana Asim Makhdoom and Saif Ullah Khalid also addressed the participants of the rally.
