MOHMAND AGENCY - At least 15 militants including three commanders and one FC man were killed while several others got injured as a result of clashes between security forces and Taliban here at Mullahkhel area of Qandaharo tehsil on late Saturday night. Later in retaliatory action of the security forces, two primary schools, one female teachers' hostel and a petrol pump were destroyed. According to details, a group of militants attacked the security forces at Mullahkhel. The security forces with the help of gunship helicopters repulsed the attack and claimed killing of 15 miscreants. However, the local tribesmen confirmed the killing of 13 militants. The killed persons included three Taliban commanders, identified as Yaqoob, Qari Rehmanullah and Omar Khitab. The security forces also targeted the suspected hideouts of alleged militants from Mullakhel to Darwazgai areas through gunship helicopters. Issa Khan Khail from Swat adds: At least three persons including a law enforcer were killed and two others wounded in separate incidents of violence in the scattered parts of Swat district on Sunday. Sources said that a law enforcer was killed when armed person gunned him down near Mingora General Bus Stand. The deceased was identified as Arshad. Similarly in another incident, armed militants entered a housed and killed Ali and Zafar, besides injuring two other persons. Amidst continued curfew imposed in Manglawar and Charbagh areas, the security forces targeted the suspected hideouts of militants. However no human loss was reported. APP adds: A low-intensity explosive device went off here at Tadi Gate in Kohati area of Peshawar on late Sunday night. However, no casualty was reported, police said. An official of Kohati police station said that a bomb of low intensity was planted close to the shop of one Pir Niazi. The shutter of the shop was damaged in the explosion.
