QUETTA Two provincial Ministers staged a token walk-out on Monday from the session of Balochistan Assembly against the firing incident on procession of students in Khuzdar while Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution for immediate provision of gas to all district headquarters in Balochistan. Soon after the recitation from the Holy Quran, Provincial Minister Sardar Aslam Bizenjo on a point of order raised the incident of firing on procession of students in Khuzdar on January 15th by the security forces. He said that procession was peaceful but firing was made on it and ,added, that there was no justification for firing on peaceful and unarmed political activists. He said that on one hand government was talking to solve the issue of Balochistan through dialogue while on the other the innocent people were being targeted. He said that government had failed to recover missing persons so far and the occurrence of such incidents would further aggravate the situation in the province. 'Govt must take serious notice of this incident and hold an inquiry into the incident by a judge of High Court, he added. Aslam Bizenjo said that govt should also announce compensation for the victims of firing on procession. He staged a walkout from the House as protest against the firing incident. Abdul Rehman Mengal also condemned the incident and alleged that FC was involved in firing on the procession and staged a walkout from the House. However, Finance Minister brought the both legislatures back into the House and said that Chief Minister Balochistan had taken serious notice of Khuzdar incident. He said that Chief Minister had ordered for inquiry as FC authorities had stated that FC was not present at the time of firing in the area. He said that action would be taken against the people involved in firing incident and Balochistan Government would bear the expenses on treatment of the injured persons. Provincial Minister Mir Habibur Rehman Hassani tabled a resolution in the House for provision of gas to Washuk and all other district headquarters of Balochistan. Speaking on admissibility of resolution, Habibur Rehman Hassani appreciated steps of Federal government under Aghaaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package for eradication of sense of deprivation prevailing amongst the people of Balochistan but said that a large area of Balochistan was deprived from facility of gas. Members including Nasreen Kethran, Zahoor Ahmed Khosa, Ghazala Golla, Sardar Aslam Bizenjo, Fauzia Marri, Engineer Zamrak Khan, Asim Kurd Gailoo, Tahir Mehmood Khan and others supported the resolution and said that gas was discovered from Balochistan in 1950s and entire country was enjoying this facility but 90 per cent areas of Balochistan were deprived of this facility. They complained that most parts of the province are still deprived of gas facility despite the fact that it is supplied from Balochistan. They said that it was responsibility of the government to ensure gas facility to all districts of Balochistan and take up this issue with the Federal Government. The House adopted the resolution unanimously when the chair put it for vote. The House also passed another resolution demanding of the Federal government for reinstatement 60 sacked employees of Marri Gas Company in Harnai district. The resolution was moved by Provincial Minister Malik Sultan Muhammad Tareen. Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gailoo, Zahoor Ahmed Khosa and other MPAs supported the resolution and said that unemployment and poverty were increasing in the province. Later on the session of Balochistan Assembly was adjourned for an indefinite period.
