'No confrontation with any institution'

LAHORE (Agencies) Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at the Governors House on Monday. The two leaders discussed the political situation, the pace of progress on various development schemes and the prevailing law and order situation in the country. According to a private TV channel, the two leaders discussed local bodies polls and other matters of mutual interest. They exchanged views over the national and provincial political affairs, sources said. They discussed appointment of Justice Khwaja Mohammed Sharif, Chief Justice Lahore High Court, to the Supreme Court and nomination of the new Chief Justice of LHC. Gilani also discussed local bodies elections and upcoming session of the Punjab Assembly. According to Online: President Zardari on Monday again made it clear that he does not want clash with any institution, saying that they must work within limits. Whatever the mandate of any institution, it must work according to it, he said, adding that the government is following this strictly. Sources said that a host of issues such as appointments in the higher judiciary came under discussion.
