There are a handful of artistes who have created an authentic stamp on the music industry, creating not only a genre but a global phenomenon. RDB (Rhythm, Dhol, Bass) and T-Pain no doubt fall in this list. Recently, they collaborated for a song ‘Daddy Da Cash’ to enthrall their fans across the globe. It is a song which depicts the now-a-days reality where materialistic things have gained importance and everyone is in race to gather maximum money and possessions. The song depicts the reality in a funny way. ‘Daddy Da Cash’ is part of RDB's much awaited fourth studio album titled "Worldwide" which is touted to be a fusion of different sounds and genres across the world. This musical production from RDB showcases a positive track full of energy in memory of the late Kuldeep Singh.

After the sad demise of Kuldeep, RDB band now consists of two brothers. The band is itself an ode to the international music scene. Similarly, Faheem Rasheed Najm known by his stage name T-Pain, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer, and actor. He has earned two Grammy Awards alongside artists Kanye West and Jamie Foxx. Throughout his career as a singer, he is known for using & popularizing the Auto-Tune pitch correction effect. RDB briefs Sunday Plus readers about their latest collaboration and also gives little sneak peak about their future plans and visiting Pakistan.

Q: How did the collaboration come into being and how the experience has been? In your view what makes the music click?

A: We had connected with T-Pain before and hosted him in Mumbai early in 2013. The track Daddy Da Cash was the inspiration of our late brother Kuly. Manj and me simply added the beat and gave it a full Punjabi vibe. Having T-Pain feature on it was fantastic. He is a great artist and we share the same vision of music. It’s not our first international collaboration, as we launched songs featuring Snoop Dogg, Public Enemy and Ludacris in the past. It’s always exciting to work with leaders from the Hip Hop scene.

Q: What is the concept of the song “Daddy Da Cash”?

A:  Nowadays, everything revolves around money. People are obsessed with materialistic things, particularly young people. Everyone wants to earn more and more money so that they can buy more possessions. We wanted to approach the issue in a funny and ironic way.

Q: What sets this collaboration apart from such ventures in the past? What has been the response to this song?

A: Each artist we collaborate with adds his or her own twist to a track, which makes it unique and different from what we have done in the past, although you will always find the ‘RDB stamp’ to it! Our current track Daddy Da Cash is loved by our fans and we have had a really positive response to it. To get such love and support from our fans around the world is fantastic!

Q: Could you elaborate on its music and dhol beats?

A: Every RDB track has an upbeat vibe to it. We love to party and this comes through in our music. We use the state-of-the-art equipment in our studio to create our unique sounds.

Q: Are there any live performances of this song in the near future

A: We are planning scheduled events and concerts in Pakistan very soon. We will reconnect with our Pakistani fans. We are actually in discussion with a couple of promoters as we speak this space.
