LAHORE - Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed visited Tehsil Kamilia and Pir Mehal of district Toba Tek Singh to review security arrangements in educational institutions.

He visited TST Graduate College, Girls High School No 1, Boys High School No 1 in Kamalia, Government Girls College for Women, Girls Higher Secondary School, Government Girls Elementary School in Pir Mehal, Government Girls Post Graduate College and Model High School Toba Tek Singh and reviewed in detail security arrangements. He directed to depute trained guards in educational institutions and said that the equipment of the staff at duty should be functional.

Dr Farrukh Javed directed administration and teachers of schools to impart training to students for coping with any emergent situation. He said that training of rescue and civil defense should be given to teachers, staff members and students.

He also examined boundary walls and exit points of schools and directed to set up posts at roofs beside the gates and appoint staff. EDO Education Mrs. Najma Kausar, EDO Agriculture Ch Mushtaq, DO Agriculture Shahid Bukhari and officers of concerned departments also accompanied the Minister.

The minister was informed that 705 teachers and staff members have been imparted 3-day training of rescue and civil defense.

He was further told that boundary walls of 1000 schools of the district have been completed and construction in remaining schools is continuing while barbered wire has been fixed at boundary walls of 60 schools of A category.

CCTV cameras have been installed at 42 sensitive schools while orders for the purchase of remaining have been placed. There are metal detectors in 818 schools of the district while orders for metal detectors for 390 schools have been placed.
