Mumbai attack mastermind’s case might not be transferred to the military court

Islamabad- Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to all concerned on the petition filed by FIA seeking cancellation of bail plea of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, alleged mastermind in Mumbai attacks.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has remarked “as to why the Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi case not be sent to military court.
Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi remarked “why are the detention orders issued by government when court has already issued orders for release of the accused. A two-member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up FIA’s petition filed by FIA prosecutor seeking cancellation of Lakhvi bail today.
FIA prosecutor, Chaudhry Azhar, appeared in the court and said that the foreign countries had piled pressure on government in Lakhvi case. Therefore, it is requested that case may please be heard early. He told the court India had demanded from federal government that Lakhvi be handed over it.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked “as to why court should not send Lakhvi case to military court for hearing. Justice Noor ul N. Qureshi remarked “ Lakhvi was earlier detained and later the court issued orders for his release. Government has again extended detention orders. Raja Rizwan Abbasi counsel for Lakhvi could not appear in the court due to strike of lawyers on the call of Pakistan Bar Council. The court while issuing notice to Lakhvi adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.
