ISLAMABAD  - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chariman Bilawal Bhutto Zadari will meet ambassadors of the European countries as well as a delegation of European Union today (Tuesday), The Nation has learnt. 

PPP senior leader Faisal Karim Kundi told The Nation that Bilawal will meet the ambassadors of European countries to Pakistan and an EU delegation during a lunch at the house of an EU ambassador. He said that Bilawal will also visit the house of Argentine ambassador to Pakistan after meeting with EU delegation. “The top PPP leadership has also been invited to attend the event,” he added.

Kundi said that Bilawl will discuss the national and regional political situation and brief them about the PPP manifesto and success of Sindh government. “The PPP chief would also leave for Karachi today evening”, he added.

Meanwhile, the PPP chairman yesterday chaired meetings of PPP Wing FATA and People’s Students Federation and People’s Youth Organization (PYO) and PPP Female Wing FATA in two sessions. Party’s senior leaders, including Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Faisal Karim Kundi, Noor Alam Khan, Akhunzada Chattan and other central senior party leaders were also present on the occasion.

Akhwanzadada Chattan led the delegations of FATA and briefed the chairman about the party position in his area. He urged the party chairman to highlight the government’s ignorance on FATA reforms and raise this issue in parliament and also form a committee within party in this regard.

Bilawal accepted the Chattan’s suggestion and asked the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah and Senator Aitzaz Ahsn to take up the issue in the National Assembly and Senate as well and put pressure on government to start work on FATA reforms.

He encouraged the local leadership to engage the youth and dedicated workers for spreading party manifesto at gross root level.

Talking to The Nation Akhwazada Chattan said that the different party delegations met Chairman and pointed out the weaknesses of party in their areas and submitted their suggestions to the chairman for regaining the lost popularity ahead of next election. He said that chairman met different wings of FATA and listened to their suggestions and complaints.

Bilawal landed in Islamabad on last Wednesday for party restructuring in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu Kashmir and Federal Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA).

During his visit he met office-bearers and top leadership of FATA, KP and AJK and he discussed the political situation and party position in that areas.

Bilawal promised the workers that he will soon undertake visits to the southern and northern divisions of the province to meet the rank and file of workers and the people.

He also paid tributes to the people of KP for their heroic fight and sacrifices in the fight against extremism and militancy and condemned the “Nawaz’s government’s criminal neglect from its responsibilities to implement the unanimously adopted the National Action Plan”. He said that the NAP called for reforming FATA but no reforms have been introduced in the tribal areas.
