Rawalpindi - The participants of an All Parties Conference (APC) urged the government of Bangladesh to release and hand over Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh leader Matti-ur-Rehman Nizami to Qatar after quashing baseless cases against him.

They also urged the government of Pakistan, Muslim world and Islamic organisations to bar Bangladesh from victimising the JI leaders who have affection for Pakistan. They said that all the political and politico-religious parties would meet at Mansoora, Lahore, in the first week of February to hammer out a unanimous strategy to highlight the possible threats being faced by the leaders in Bangladesh.

The APC titled “The judicial killing of Pakistani patriot leaders in Bangladesh” was organised by JI Rawalpindi at a local hotel. JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch chaired the APC which was also attended by Federal Parliamentary Secretary Raja Javed Ikhlas, PTI leaders Zahid Hussain Kazmi and Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, JUI-F District Ameer Maulana Taj Muhammad Khan, Darul Aloom Taleem ul Quran head cleric Maulana Ashraf Ali, traders’ leader Malik Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, JUI-P District President Maulana Abdul Raheem Babar and JI’s district office bearers Shamas ur Rehman Swati and others.

Liquat Baloch said that Muslim Ummah is divided into many sects owing to which the imperial forces have overwhelmed it. He said that Bengali PM Haseena Wajid started targeting Bangladesh National Party and leaders of JI after stealing public mandate in general elections. “Haseena Wajid is killing the leaders on the nod of India,” Baloch alleged.

He added that so far a large number of JI leaders, including Prof Ghulam Azam, Maulana Dilawar Saeed, Mullah Abdul Qadir, Qamar-uz-Zaman, Ali Asif Muhajid and Fazal Qadir Mujahid, have been awarded capital punishment. “Now, the Bangladesh court has sentenced Maulana Matti-ur-Rehman which is unacceptable,” he said. He said that the Foreign Office had declared it an internal matter of Bangladesh earlier but later a delegation of JI called on Federal Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan and Advisor to PM Sartaj Aziz and told them that India has been hatching conspiracies and forcing Haseena Wajid to hang the JI leaders for having love and respect for Pakistan in their hearts. “Ch Nisar then raised his voice in favour of JI leaders,” he added.

Baloch said that Pakistan is mediating between Saudi Arabia and Iran after tension grew between them over hanging of Sheikh Al-Nimr but the Foreign Office kept criminal mum over killing of JI leaders in Bangladesh.

The other speakers also said that Pakistani rulers should play their role to bar Haseena Wajid from targeting the JI leaders in Bangladesh.  They also said that UN should take notice of the atrocities of Bangladesh government.
