Khattak, Gulalai visit family of Mardan murdered girl

MARDAN - Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Parveez Khattak Thursday visited the residence of Asma, a four-year-old girl who was raped and killed by unidentified persons.

The chief minister expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and vowed to bring culprit to justice. Police have been struggling to arrest the culprit since Sunday evening when the body of Asma was found from the sugarcane field of Gujjar Garhi village in Mardan.

Khattak offered fateha for the departed soul and the family showed satisfaction with the police progress in the case. However, the CM avoided talking the media and said he is here to express his solidarity with the family of the slain girl.

Leaders of various political parties also visited the residence of the slain girl to express solidarity with the family. PTI lawmaker Ayesha Gulalai also visited the house of the deceased and offered Fateha.

Talking to reporters at Mardan Press Club Ayesha Gulalai strongly condemned the brutal murder. She said that the assaults on children had become a serious issue in the country and a proper strategy should be made to deal with it.

She demanded the prime minister refer all children rape cases, including Kasur and Mardan, to the military court.

Gulalai strongly criticized PTI chief Imran Khan and the provincial government and said that Asma's brutal murder had exposed the performance of the so-called reformed police of the PTI chairman. She alleged that the so-called modern police of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were trying to hide the matter of sexual assault on the victim.

She added that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police were trying to save the image of the provincial government by distorting facts. She also strongly criticized the children protection bureau and said that if they cannot play their role they should resign and closed their offices.

Gulalai added that it is need of time that the Parliament should play its role in this connection and it is also needed of time that reforms should also be done in the institutions.

He also strongly criticized the statement of Imran Khan about the parliament that course on parliament and said that Imran gained benefits and salaries from the parliament and now he is using harsh words against parliament. He added that Imran Khan is collecting the corrupt people in his party. She added that the parliament of Imran Khan Parliament will be like the parliament of Nawaz Sharif and Zardari.

She added that PTI chief Imran Khan directed the party workers to use social media against me and through social media disgrace me. She added that recently the PTI workers audited her statement and presented it in a wrong way through the people. She strongly condemned this act of PTI workers.

She added that security forces have played an active role in controlling militancy in the country. She added that it need of time that all the cases of corruption and rape cases should be referred to military courts for trial. She added that all the political parties’ leaders in the current time are criticizing the national institutions and through this way, they want to weaken the institutions.
