RAWALPINDI - Kallar Syedan police have arrested a man on charges of sodomising a seven-year-old boy after filing a case against him and an unknown accomplice, informed a police spokesman on Monday.
The accused has been identified as Asim and police also obtained his physical remand from a court of law, he added.
City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Division Zia Uddin Ahmed and his team for netting accused, he said.
According to him, the grandfather of victim child lodged a complaint with Police Station Kallar Syedan in which he stated that a man namely Asim had lured his seven-year-old grandson for money and took him to a deserted place. He alleged Asim and his unknown accomplice had assaulted his grandson sexually and fled from the scene. The applicant pleaded police to register a case against the duo and to arrest them.
Police lodged a case and started investigation, he said adding that CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas has taken notice of the incident and ordered SP Saddar Division to arrest the culprits involved in the heinous crime. Following the directions of city police chief, SP formed a special team and held the culprit Asim through human intelligence. The police have brought the victim child to hospital where doctors confirmed he was assaulted sexually. The spokesman said Rawalpindi police, under the command of CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas, is taking strict action against criminals involved in child and women abuse cases in the district.
