KBBA playing key role in basketball promotion: POA chief

LAHORE - Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Lt Gen (R) Arif Hassan has said that Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) Ghulam Muhammad Khan is playing key role in promotion of basketball in Karachi. 
“I congratulate the KBBA president and his entire team for conducting a good number of tournaments throughout the year as well as arranging coaching camps to train the players,” said the POA chief during a meeting with a delegation led by KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan. SOA Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput, VP Mahfooz-ul-Haq, M Akhlaq and Younis Pathan were also present there. 
“All sports including basketball in Sindh province especially in the city of Karachi are being organized in a professional manner while the sports organizations are also playing their role in bringing out talent in various fields of sports in an unprecedented manner. I also extend my gratitude to the Sindh people and sports fraternity for hosting the Commonwealth Games Queen Beaton Torch Rally in a successful manner, which gave a positive message to the entire world that Pakistan is a sports loving and peaceful country,” he added. 
KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan presented a detailed report of KBBA regarding basketball activities in Karachi to POA President Gen (R) Arif Hasan. “Our team has a prominent and unparalleled role in promotion of basketball in Karachi. PBBF Secretary Khalid Bashir recently visited Karachi and lauded our efforts for the betterment of game here.” In the end, former hockey coach M Akhlaq presented a souvenir to POA President Arif Hasan on behalf of the KBBA at the annual dinner.
