LAHORE - Farrukh Shah, previously aligned with Sharif brothers and of late with the Chaudhrys of Gujrat, has now joined Punjab Governor Salman Taseer's team as media advisor. Hafeezur Rehman Malik, political secretary to Salman Taseer, on Friday issued notification of Farrukh Shah's appointment as media advisor to the Governor. Farrukh Shah has served as PRO to Punjab Chief Minister, Shehbaz Sharif during latter's first stint as chief minister. He remained associated with Sharifs until their stay in Saudi Arabia during their exile period. Later, when Nawaz Sharif shifted to London from Jeddah along with other family members, Farrukh bid farewell to Sharifs reportedly after Pervaiz Rashid, present Media Advisor to Punjab CM, got close to them. He returned back, but only to become an important member of the then Punjab CM, Pervaiz Elahi's media team. He served as DGPR for over one and a half year till the advent of Shahbaz Sharif's second government in Punjab after February 18 polls. Now he is media advisor to Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, a PPP man in Governor's House.
