ISLAMABAD - Renowned designer Zehra Valliani has said that Pakistan has tremendous potential for oriental wearing and embroidered stuff, proper allocation of funds on part of government could yield positive results in this regard. She was talking to TheNation here on Saturday. Zehra Valliani, popularly known under her designer label Zehra V, is a young designer to hit the fashion scene in Pakistan. Based in the Capital, Zehra brings to the Pakistani fashion scene, a sublime blend of sophistication and zest, which was previously lacking. Her clothes are classy, simple, elegant and affordable. I try to produce such staff that is open to all and caters for the needs of every segment of the society from the lower middle class to the elites, Zehra said. Given the prevailing economic situation, I give special consideration to the fact that my designs dont prove as an extra burden on the pockets, she added. Like most of the designers, Zehra Valliani believes Dress is the language of thought. She claims to create a fusion of East and West for formal and informal ceremonies. Also, the young designer seems to have a deep-rooted sense of patriotism and vows to promote Pakistani culture and fashion across the globe. Our culture, our rich aesthetics and our much envied historical past are second to none. I wonder why people get gravitated to West when our beloved country has so much to offer, she observes. She hopes that her new Eastern collections will receive a positive feedback and appreciation like the previous ones. Also, Zehra Valliani is regarded as an adept at the art of bridal wears. Her bridal dresses have carried enormous fanfare and appreciation during different dress exhibitions arranged in Western European countries and United States. I take pride in declaring the fact that I have successfully promoted the Pakistani cultural events, especially the marriage ceremonies through my exhibitions abroad, the designer mentioned. I dont agree that one should buy an expensive outfit to look smart and trendy, one can wear a respectable dress even at loss price ranges, says the young designer. She hopes that she can promote the skill in her country that is far the best to any countrys fashion.
