Protest over students murder in Pindi

RAWALPINDI - Protesting over the incident of student of the Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (AAUR), blocked the main Benazir Bhutto Road (Murree Road) for several hours and burnt tyres. Later, the students on the ensuring by the university administration and CPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal ended their protest and opened road for traffic in the wee hours of Saturday. The university remained closed on Saturday and the proposed paper was postponed to some other day. Meanwhile, the university spokesman, while talking to TheNation, said that the university would be functional on Monday, adding that the university administration had made it clear upon the police and the city administration to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible. It is to be mentioned her that unidentified muggers had shot dead one student of the Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (AAUR) after the victim resisted surrendering his mobile phone during a dacoity incident on late Friday night within the jurisdiction of the New Town Police Station. Unknown robbers upon failure in their scheme opened fire on one Muhammad Shehzad Ali, a student of BSc (Honours) at Arid Agriculture University, in front of Public Park and deceased sustained two bullet injuries and died on the spot. Muhammad Shehzad Ali and his friends were returning back to their hostel after studying in park lawn. When they reached main gate of the park, some unknown mobile snatchers riding a motorbike trying to snatch their mobiles on gunpoint. However, Muhammad Shehzad Ali showed resistance and tried to apprehend the culprits who opened fire on him resulting in his sudden death. Shahzad was hailing from Nankana Sahib and was residing in the hostel of the university.
