MANILA- Pakistan’s 4.1 percent economic growth in the last fiscal year has surprised the Asian Development Bank. “Pakistan’s growth for the fiscal year that ended in June surprised on the high side - 4.1 percent compared to the ADO 2014 forecast of 3.4 percent,” the bank said in a latest Asian Development Outlook (ADO) Supplement.
“Developing Asia as a region continues to perform well,” added ADB Deputy Chief Economist Juzhong Zhuang.
The report maintains ADB’s April forecast of 6.2 percent growth in 2014 and 6.4 percent in 2015 for the region’s 45 developing economies.
