The Foreign Office, in a statement, has expressed its deep concern at the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian Security forces.

Speaking to journalists, the FO spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah stated that unprovoked firing from Indian Security forces is a violation of the spirit of understanding that was established at Ufa.

"We hope that the Indian government observes the understanding reached between the two sides during 2003 to maintain peace and tranquility at the LoC and Working Boundary in letter and spirit," FO spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said in a statement.

The spokesman expressed regret at the fact that the ceasefire violations by the Indian troops have been committed during the Eidul Fitr holidays as was done by them last year, "when many innocent civilians were martyred". He further expressed sorrow over the four lives lost on July 15 while the entire country was busy in Eid preparations.
