LAHORE - Experts have forecast more monsoon rains for parts of the country including Lahore during the next couple of days.

Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending north-eastwards. Monsoon currents are also penetrating upper and central parts of the country. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the next 24 hours.

Under the influence of the prevailing synoptic situation, rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Islamabad, Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Multan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan divisions), FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and northeast Balochistan.

Light rain is also expected along Sindh-Makran coastal areas. However, heavy rains may generate flash/urban flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas of KP, GB, Punjab and Kashmir. Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 34C and 22C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 59 per cent.
