Pakistan army recovered advocate Owais Shah son of Chief Justice (CJ) Sindh High Court (SHC) Sajjad Ali Shah in an operation near Tank earlier today.

Director General (DG) ISPR Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said in his message on Twitter that advocate Owais Shah has been recovered while 3 terrorists have also been killed in the operation. Owais Shah has been rescued from the possession of kidnappers during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in district Tank at KPK.

He also tweeted about welfare of Owais Shah saying he is all well and he has been shifted to his home in Karachi. .

The terrorists were taking Owais Shah from DG Khan to Tank and information about their presence in Tank was received 3 days back. Army chief monitored the operation on his own.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif while congratulating Chief Justice Sindh High Court (SHC) over his son’s recovery said recovery of Owais Shah became possible due to outstanding professional skills of intelligence agencies and security forces.

After the recovery, DG Rangers Maj Gen Bilal Akbar accompanied by Owais Shah went up to the home of Chief Justice SHC and congratulated him on the recovery of his son.

Governor Sindh Dr Isharat ul Ibad has also congratulated Chief Justice SHC over recovery of his son.

Owais Shah was abducted outside a super store in the area of Clifton from Karachi on June 20. The eyewitnesses of this incident said that no one including guards of super store had come forward to rescue him.

The eye witnesses told the police that Owais Shah put up resistance but the abductors overpowered him soon and took him away in a white car.

Police had suspected that the militants could use Owais Shah as bargaining chip to seek release of some detained militants.
