Teen found hanged at home

LAHORE  - A teenage boy ended his life by hanging himself with the ceiling fan at his house yesterday.

Police identified the 16-year-old as Muhammad Ramazan, a resident of Chowk Jhanda in the walled city.

The boy got into an argument with his family over some domestic dispute. When the family members left the house to attend a wedding ceremony somewhere, the youth went into the bedroom and took the extreme step.

Some locals alerted the police after witnessing the body. “The boy’s body was hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope tied to his neck as we reached the spot,” a police investigator said. The body was moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

The family later told the police that Ramazan was a drug addict and he took his own life when they refused to pay him money. The police are investigating the death.
