NAB files case against Al-Abbas Int’l owner

ISLAMABAD - The National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi filed a reference against Nazar Abbas, Al-Abbas international educational consultants and others in the Accountability Court Rawalpindi for cheating public at large.

As per details, Australian High Commission, Pakistan had referred a case to NAB Rawalpindi against Al-Abbas International, an Educational Consultancy Firm, Pakistan.

According to the complaint, accused Nazar Abbas is Owner and Director of the AL-ABBAS International Educational Consultants. He dishonestly and fraudulently induced students on the pretext of arranging study visa of Australia and collected millions of rupees in lieu thereof. The accused had no legal authority or mandate to collect money in this regard. In this way, the accused deprived the students of the hard earned money of their parents as well as played havoc with their future.

The accused entered into agreements with the complainants (students or their guardians) and also issued guarantee cheques to them with his signatures. The accused neither arranged study visa for the students nor returned their amounts and misappropriated the same. The accused has collected Rs14.23 million from students and dishonestly / fraudulently misappropriated the same.

DG NAB Rawalpindi Irfan Naeem Mangi said that the students are future of Pakistan, therefore, they should remain vigilant from such elements in order to avoid any loss of their precious time and resources. He emphasised that the students avoid such fake student visa agents who may be involved in illicit practices such as human trafficking endangering precious lives and causing embarrassment to Pakistan on international forums.

NAB ARRESTS MAN FOR CHEATING PILGRIMS

Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: NAB Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has arrested Navid Sadiq, a resident of Kohat, allegedly involved in the offence of cheating more than 51 potential pilgrims (Hujjaj) worth millions of rupees.

In the light of directions of NAB Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal to arrest absconders in corruption cases, intelligence team of NAB Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa conducted a raid and arrested Navid Sadiq allegedly involved in the offence of cheating public at large with more than 51 potential pilgrims (Hujjaj) worth millions of rupees.

As per details, accused Abdul Aqeel (already convicted) and Navid Sadiq were running a business named Aqeel Travel & Tours, Nowshera. The accused persons through advertisements in daily newspapers invited Hajj applications from general pubic inviting low cost luxurious packages.

They collected money from 51 pilgrims, without acquiring Hajj quota from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in gross violation of laws. Accused Navid Sadiq in connivance with his accomplice Abdul Aqeel deprived the prospective pilgrims of their hard earned money and failed to send them for Hajj.

NAB Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa actively pursued the case and arrested Navid Sadiq.

The accused person was presented in the Accountability Court Peshawar. NAB Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has time and again requested general public to beware of such scams.
