ISLAMABAD - President Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali hoped Wednesday that the issue of the former secretary Khalid Mehmood would be solved after meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and Federal Minister for Sports Najmuddin Khan. Former Prime Minister, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali told reporters after observing the trials of the national junior hockey team at Nasir Bunda Hockey Stadium that he had pursued the office of PM for a meeting to resolve the controversy created by the ministry of sports by sacking Khalid Mehmood. "The Prime Minister is busy in his political engagements and could not find time for him. The Prime Minister's secretary called back and informed us that he (PM) was eager to meet me but he could not manage the time," Jamali said. He further said that the meeting might take place on Thursday or Friday. Jamali said that he also tried to contact federal minister for sports Najamuddin but he was out of city. "I came to know that he was in Gilgit and would come back in Islamabad after two days," he added. PHF president said that the purpose of staying in capital was to solve this issue. "I am optimistic that this affairs will be settled after meetings with these two officials. I have also close and good relations with Yousaf Raza Gillani, Qasim Zia and Asif Bajwa, "he viewed.
