ISLAMABAD Attorney General of Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq has apprised the Supreme Court that Aftab Sultan, Additional IG Finance Punjab, has been appointed chief of the NAB team investigating into Bank of Punjab (BoP) scam case. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry heard the case on Friday. The Federal Government had earlier sent a notification to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that Aftab Sultan would assist in the investigation of the scam. Subsequently, the court ordered the Federal Government to reissue the notification and specify that Sultan would be heading the investigation. The court was informed on Thursday that the Establishment Division had issued a new notification stating that Aftab Sultan would be heading the probe. The hearing of the case was adjourned till July 6.
