ISLAMABAD Pakistan No 1 Aamir Atlas Khan vowed that he would be world champion by next year 2011 and fulfil the dream of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) which had claimed around two years back that it will produce world champion in 2011. Talking to TheNation, world number 22 Aamir Atlas said that he had abilities to reach the top in world ranking and win the crown of world champions in one and half year. I am supper fit and need support from the PSF to achieve my goal, he said. Aamir further said that he would take part in the mega squash event next month including Malaysian Open and Hong Kong Open which would be held from July 19 to 24 and August 23 to 29 respectively. I want to improve my international ranking in one year, he said. This dream become true if the federation supports me for international competitions and I play tournament regularly abroad, he said. Responding to a question, Aamir said that Khan family could bring up a world class squash player as this family has served the country in this game in the past. Danish is a talented upcoming player and we can expect a brilliant game from him in future, he said. Besides my brother Danish Atlas Waqas Mehboob is also a good lad and has abilities to improve his skills. We are getting hectic training from our father Atlas Khan and we will bring notable results in the forthcoming national and international squash fixtures, he added. Aamir said that he would participate in the PSA-CAA International Squash Tournament which would be held at Mushaf Squash Complex from June 19 with qualifying round. I am winning all the national titles for last three years and I am optimistic to win this crown this year, he said. When asked which player could create hurdle in his way, he said that his brother Danish was in good form. Waqar Mehboob is second seed player of the tournament but there will be no hurdle in my way to lift the trophy, he concluded.
