LAHORE - In a wake of campaign against spurious drugs in the province, a team of taskforce on spurious drugs raided the subway market Lohari Gate and recovered stolen medicines belonging to federal government and vaccines worth millions of rupees and sealed the godown. This was disclosed by Chairman Chief Ministers taskforce on spurious drugs Dr Saeed Elahi on Friday. He said that first time stolen medicines of federal government is being recovered and investigation is being carried out with the help of batch number that who supplied these medicines and from where these were stolen and who are involved in this scandal. He said that those who involved in this case would be nabbed after registering the case against them. Dr Saeed Elahi said that 17 different medicines worth millions of rupees included disposable syringes, Ribavirin Capsules of National Hepatitis Control Programme and other unregistered and unwarranted medicines were recovered during the raid. He further stated that those who involved in this heinous act are the enemies of humanity and deserves strict punishment. He said that there is a dire need for legislation to curb this business and efforts are being made by the PML-N government for this purpose.
