In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has appealed to the international community to impress upon India to stop human rights violations in the territory. According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a public gathering in Gandarbal, maintained that India's claim of zero tolerance against the rights abuses proved a hoax in the backdrop of fake encounters and targeted killing of innocent Kashmiris over the past few months. "Continued rights violations in the occupied territory and dialogue can not go together," he added. The APHC Chairman said that Pakistan should take up killings, repeal of draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), disappearances and custodial torture in the occupied territory during its talks with India, next week. The Mirwaiz urged India to stop rights abuses, withdraw its troops and repeal all black laws from the territory before initiating meaningful talks on Kashmir. He deplored that the occupation authorities had always tried to shield the culprits involved in the killing of innocent Kashmiri people.
