LAHORE - Paper projects could not stop the movement for a new province and terming the supporters of new province as 'traitors would be an insult to the people of southern Punjab, remarked Ch Zaheer-ud-Din, Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly. Ch Zaheer expressed these views while talking to the media after the assembly session on Friday. Opposition members including Mohsin Leghari, Sher Ali, Amir Gopang, Amna Ulfat, Dr Samia Amjad and Seemal Kamran were also present on the occasion. He said official facts and figures were rejecting the claims of the provincial government regarding development projects. Ch Zaheer said the Opposition took part in the budget debate in the light of the facts and figures, however the Treasury instead of answering their queries keeping in view the facts and figures adopted the policy of 'blame game. He said a member of assembly who benefited from each government and habitual of taking part in the polls in an independent capacity to become part of the upcoming government had spoken obnoxious remarks against women parliamentarians in a bid to pollute the atmosphere of the House. Ch Zaheer said that Opposition staged a walk out from the House to register their protest on the obnoxious remarks against women parliamentarians. He said the Opposition members were thankful to the Speaker Punjab Assembly who expunged the detestable remarks against women parliamentarians from the House proceedings.
