ISLAMABAD- Capital Development Authority Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz, on Tuesday said that CDA for the first time has taken effective measures to resolve chronic issues in the most populated G and I series sectors as these sectors have been neglected in the past.

While inaugurating the Clean and Green Islamabad campaign here in F-6, the chairman CDA said, "During the Clean and Green Islamabad Campaign, we have tried to develop coordination and interaction with the residents of the capital city, which has played vital role in resolving basic issues." He added that these issues neither need huge funds nor planning for execution.

The chairman said that most of the problems including sanitation, sewerage system, repair maintenance of roads and footpaths and environment have been resolved through a systematic mechanism within available resources.

He said that direct interaction between citizens and officers during the campaign has been phenomenal, adding that in light of very useful suggestions from the residents, the CDA will chalk out a comprehensive plan for the development of the city and provision of improved basic civic amenities. The chairman said that purpose of this campaign is to restore lush green environment of the federal capital. He appreciated the active participation and cooperation of students, media, civil society and trader's community in the campaign.
