The International Monetary Fund (IMF) team on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s budgetary measures for fiscal year 2013-14.

The IMF team held a meeting with Pakistani officials in Islamabad. Pakistani delegation was led by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while the IMF delegation by Jeffery Frank.

After meeting, the IMF mission expressed satisfaction over the provision of subsidies to the consumers in different sectors.

The IMF team said that conditions to provide soft term loans would be determined in accordance with the economic situation of Pakistan. The team said that provinces should be included at the policy level negotiations.

The team expressed its satisfaction over the budgetary measures and described them as realistic approach.  The team also expressed satisfaction over the provision of subsidies to the consumers in different sectors.

The team said Pakistan could apply for loan within the next three to four days.   The team will remain in Pakistan till the 27th of this month.
