LAHORE - Pakistani entrepreneurs will once again be visiting the forthcoming 19th world’s largest International Trade Fair for Plastics & Rubber, taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany from 16-23 October 2013.
Disclosing this during a presentation, Jamil A Naz, Director Liaison Office for Messe Duesseldorf GmbH in Pakistan, said that traders and manufacturers from Pakistan have been visiting ‘K’ for quite some years now. The number of visitors from Pakistan is on the increase, owing to the continuous innovations in the plastics and rubber industries worldwide, and the importance of K as the main hub for decision-makers in the industry.
Jamil A Naz informed that K is the world’s largest and oldest trade fair of its kind and is held every 3 years since 1956. In the last event in 2010, 3,094 companies from 56 countries who displayed their products and services to 222,486 visitors from 109 countries. A larger participation is expected this year (i.e. 2013).
Jamil A Naz said for the first time in 2010 there were 2 exhibitors from Pakistan who exhibited at K 2010 and they will be exhibiting at the upcoming K 2013 as well. However, there are a large number of businessmen from Pakistan who visit the event on a regular basis for the acquisition of goods, technology, machinery and services in the plastics and rubber industry. However, things are changing in the right direction and Pakistan is coming up with the potential to actually participate and display its products in the international market through the platform that, only an event like K can provide. The main potential from Pakistan lies in various plastic items like household and kitchen items, automobile parts, electronic and electrical equipments and much more being produced locally.
